FAQ – LawnPride Under Turf Starter
What does Under Turf Starter do?
It gives new turf the best possible start by feeding it for up to three months and helping the roots establish quickly. The added water crystals hold moisture in the soil so your turf can access it as needed.
When should I apply it?
Only before laying new turf. Spread it evenly over the prepared soil, then water it in thoroughly. It’s not suitable for established lawns or for use after the turf has been installed.
How do I apply it?
Use a fertiliser spreader for an even application. After spreading, water the area well so the product can activate and move into the soil.
Is it safe for kids and pets?
Yes — once watered in properly, it’s safe to use around children, dogs, and cats.
Can I use it on any turf variety?
Yes, it’s suitable for all common turf types, including couch, buffalo, zoysia, kikuyu, and hybrid bermudagrass.
What are the benefits of the water crystals?
The water crystals soak up moisture and store it in the soil, making it available to the turf as needed. This is especially helpful during dry weather, hot conditions, or water restrictions.
Will it stain concrete or pavers?
Possibly — yes. The granules can stain hard surfaces. Avoid getting it on concrete, pavers, or tiles. If any granules land where they shouldn’t, sweep or blow them away immediately — don’t wash them away with water.
